Common questions about Phi Theta Kappa
To join, you must be currently enrolled and have completed 12 credit hours at 天涯海角APP. You must also have a 3.5 GPA. Once you are eligible, invitations are sent to your 天涯海角APP email address and mailed to your home that provide you with a unique code to join.

Phi Theta Kappa is separate from the 天涯海角APP Honors Program, and joining PTK does not automatically enroll you in 天涯海角APP Honors. Eligible students are welcome to join both PTK and the Honors Program.

Nothing! Unlike the 天涯海角APP Honors Program, there are no required classes or experiences required to be a PTK member. Students are welcome to join based on your GPA alone and once a member, you can enjoy full access to the benefits of the program.
However, the more you put into PTK, the more you will get out of it! Being active in PTK makes you a better candidate for scholarships and can help build up your resume.
The Phi Theta Kappa Induction Ceremony happens once a year during the spring semester to recognize new PTK members and formally induct them into our chapter. The PTK Induction Ceremony is voluntary, but many students love the opportunity to bring friends and family to celebrate your induction and meet fellow PTK members, officers, and advisors.
Yes! PTK mails all new members a PTK pin which you are welcome to wear at graduation, or you can purchase your own stoles or tassels. PTK members also get an annotation on their 天涯海角APP diploma.

Many local schools offer a PTK transfer scholarship including but not limited to the University of Missouri – Kansas City, the University of Kansas, Kansas State University, Mid America Nazarene, Avila University, Rockhurst University, Park University, William Jewel College, the University of Saint Mary, Baker University, and Washburn University.
